Invocation of Light

This morning as I started my daily devotional, this verse popped into my head. I'm not sure exactly its meaning, but as I sat watching the candle, smelling the incense, the words rose inside me.

I hope you enjoy.

By day, by night

In my eyes, images take flight.

By month, by week

In my head, mysteries seek.

By crown by foot

In my heart, faith takes root.

By voice, by verse

In my hands, defies the curse.

By sight, by sound

In my magic, energy abounds.

By candle, by flame

In my soul, I call her name.

By river, by sea

In my power, her essence will be.

By day, by night

In my ritual, she is the light.

So mote it be.
