About
Hello everyone! I’m Bruna from Brazil. I am a devotee from Covenant of Hekate since September 2023, and feel the presence of our beloved Goddess gradually increasing in my life since 2020.
I am a Hekatean witch that loves so much to create and run rituals and spells inspired by our Goddess. Hope to share and exchange some experiences on that with you. I also have a daily devotional practice to Her and monthly celebrate Deipnon, Noumenia and the Full Moon in Her honor. All my magick and spiritual practices are weavered with Her. So I will love to exchange experiences and knowledge about all Her sacred elements, specially those botanical ones with you.
Beyond my interests as a hekatean witch and devotee in Her magick and spiritual subjects, I also have an academic interest in Her history, representations, ancient and contemporary cults, symbols and myths. I´m an academic researcher that owns a PhD degree on Social Science.
My current research focus on perform a deep analyzis of some pré-Christian mytological feminine references, what includes Hekate, aiming to better comprehend a hipothesis that I brought up in my PhD thesis.
In my thesis I analyzed the fundamentals of the relation between Capitalism and Patriarchy. Trying to clarify why those relation of oppresion need each other in order to keep alive. From this understanding, and through some social and historical analyzes, I brought up the hipothesis that the feminine identities expressed by some pre-Christian Goddesses holds a meaning and a logic that are very antagonic to those feminine identities required by capitalism and patriarchy contemporary rationalities that aim their respective survivals.
So, for me and from this perspective, revisit those ancient feminine identities through those Goddesses, here specially through our beloved Hekate, may bring to us disruptive elements and ideas against contemporary oppresive forces, and also give us social, historical and political fundaments to afirm and protect our magick and spiritual practices with our beloved Goddesses.
Last but not least, I am also initiated in a brazilian African diasporic matriarchal religion called Candomblé, to a Yabá called Oyá, or Iansã, a feminine Orisha, wich in my perspective and experience, shares a lot mysteries in commom with our beloved Goddess Hekate. Despite they are not, of course, the same.
Please, I want to invite all of you to feel free to write me whenever you want, I´m really open and willing to exchange experiences and knowledge with you, wishing to feel belonged to this beautiful community and to help strengthen it with whatever is possible to me.
With Love, Bruna 🤍
